Makeup, Topshop and Yankee Candle Haul!

Hey Guys!

Feels like ages since I've done a haul!

These are all a few items that I have purchased over the past couple of months.. (it's not very many lol!)

Natural Collection eyeshadow in 'Barley' and 'Crushed Walnut.' These eyeshadows are about 1.45 each and they are pretty good bearing in mind how cheap they are. I'm impressed!

Maybelline 24hr Color Tattoo- I've finally jumped on the Color Tattoo band wagon! I've heard sooo many great reviews of these I just had to try one for myself! I'm now totally in love with them! It's so sparkly and does indeed stay on for 24hrs. I can't wait to buy more colours!

Rimmel London Match Perfection concealer- I have serious trouble finding a concealer that'll properly cover my annoying hereditary dark circles. This concealer is brilliant! It doubles up as a highlighter, so it also looks good on your brow bone and cheek bones. It has a really lightening effect and really brightens the under eye area.

Maybelline Volum' Express Mascara- I briefly mentioned this in my 'Prom' post a while back. I LOVE Maybelline mascaras, all of the ones I have tried are so good! This mascara doesn't clump much and doesn't smudge easily. Pretty perfect really.

Pink Sands Yankee Candle- I'm going through a candle loving phase. Yankee Candles are probably the best kind of candles, I love all the different smells, especially the food smells or the summery smells. Pink Sands is definitely my favourite. I have no clue how to describe the smell but it kind of smells like roses and something tropical (really great description, I know.) Next time you pass by some Yankee Candles be sure to stop by and have a whiff of this one!

And finally my Topshop Tee! I have a crazy obsession with cats, they're fab. I love this tshirt it's great to dress up or dress down. Plus it has a cute cat on it.

Wishlist #2

Hello Lovelies!

I haven't done a wishlist for sooo long! There's so many products I'm desperate to try out and cannot wait to go on a shopping haul once all my exams have (finally) finished!
Here's my updated wishlist!

1- ASOS bodycon dress in Lace, £25.00

2- Topshop Bandeau top, £8.00. I love these tops they're great for the summer and putting under loose fitting tops.

3- Safe Haven. I went to see this film at the cinema a while back and fell in love with the story! It's such a cute story and I'm a total sucker for Nicolas Sparks books! Can't wait until this is available on DVD in the UK.

4- MUA pro-brow kit, £3.50 (I love how cheap but still pretty good quality MUA products are!)

5- Maybelline 4hr Colour Tattoo, £4.99. My favourite colour is definitely '25K Gold'.

6- Girl Heart Boy 'Rumour has it' book, £5.24. I have recently been in search from the chic flicky type books to take me mind off revision and also perfect summer reading! I came across the 'Girl Heart Boy' series of books and just finished reading the first one yesterday. These books are seriously addictive and a perfect summer chic flick. Can't wait to read the second book!

My first summer inspired OOTD ♥

My first OOTD! Just a super quick one for today as I'm uploading this during a revision break, got GCSE history tomorrow (fun, not!)

As the sun is shining today I decided to opt for a beach inspired OOTD to get me in the mood for summer. I don't normally shop in New Look but I wondered in the other today (bargain hunting) and came across some really nice beach dresses and bikinis. Definitely pop into your nearest New Look if you are looking for some summery clothes for a holiday. New Look is great when you are on a tight budget (like me!)

You can't see in the picture but my dress is a halter dress which is perfect to wear over a bikini if you're on holiday or great for dressing up to wear into town. Very versatile!

Pink and White Stripey beach dress- New Look
Denim Jacket- Republic
Necklace- New Look (was £1.00! Super Bargain!)

I hope you have enjoyed my first OOTD and it has given you some summery inspiration!

Summer Bronze Eye Makeup Tutorial!

Hello lovelies!

This is my first ever makeup tutorial! Waheey! My first tutorial is going to be a simple one but I hope you enjoy it and I hope it gives you some inspiration for some sparkly golden summery eye makeup!

Also if you have any tutorial requests, these could consist of celebrity inspired makeup, makeup for a season etc. then let me know in the comments section and I'll try my very best to recreate this look for you :)

For this look I am using:

Eyeshadow 1- A light shimmery white colour
Eyeshadow 2- A darker golden brown shimmer
Eyeshadow 3- Brown shimmer
Collection 2000 Extreme Felt Tip Liner
Maybelline Volum' Express
Rimmel Match Perfection
Some random white eyeline- LOL I don't even know where this eyeliner is from but any white eyeliner will do! ;)
Step 1-
I applied 'Rimmel Match Perfection Highlight and Concealor' on my eyelid to act as an eyeshadow base. It also highlights your eyelid really nicely!

Step 2-
I then dusted eyeshadow 1 all over my eye lid to add a subtle shimmer. I also added it to the inner corner of my eye to open up my eyes and make them look more awake.

Step 3-

Next I added eyeshadow 2 to the middle and outer third of my eyelid to give my eye some definition and gradually build up the bronze look. Then add eyeshadow 3 to the inner crease in your eye to add some more definition.

sorry it's a bit blurred!
Step 4-
Then I added Collection 2000 felt tip liner. I also added a little flick but this is totally optional!

Step 5-
Lastly I added Maybelline Volum' Express mascara.

Voila! Finished! That's my eye makeup look complete. I normally wear this look on a daily basis in some as it's so simple yet so pretty and shimmery!

Just to clarify I'm not naked I'm wearing a halter top haha!
Above is an overall view of this eye makeup look! I am also wearing MAC 'Crosswires' Lipstick.

That's it for this tutorial today, I hope you liked it! It was super simple so let me know what tutorials you would like to see next and maybe I'll try and do a more dramatic look!

'Good Things Bright Eyes Eye Cream' Review

Hello Lovelies!

Due to my hereditary dark circles under my eyes, I decided to *finally* do something about them, as piling a heap of concealer onto my under eye area everyday was becoming slightly wearing.

I have tried the 'Good Things Face Wipes' before. They smelt heavenly but irritated my skin and the smell went to a kind of stale raspberry smell after a couple of weeks.

Not having much luck with the face wipes I decided to chance it and purchase the 'Good Things Eye Cream'.
On the back of the pack it says to apply every morning and night, which I have been doing for the past few weeks. Besides the product smelling, once again, heavenly, I haven't noticed much of a difference. I have read some other really good reviews about this product, and I think it is a good product as I have noticed a slight difference.

Despite some negativity I have found this product very soothing on my under eye area and I has reduced puffiness, just not dark circles.

I would totally recommend this product to anyone looking to get rid of puffy under eye area, but not to combat dark circles.

'Good Things Bright Eyes Eye Cream' is £5.99 which is a pretty good price me thinks.

I hope you've found my review helpful! Let me know in the comments your experience of this product and any under eye creams you have loved/hated!

Prom!

Prom and the end of school have finally come around! Only feels like yesterday I was saying, 'Its prom in a year, what shall I wear!?' (Very forward planning I know!;) ) At the moment I'm in the midst of my GCSEs... not fun. Less than a month to go and then a summer full of blogging!

So finally I have decided to write a blog post to give you some makeup/ dress inspiration if you have a prom up and coming. Or maybe this post will give you some ideas even if your prom is a year or two away! When it comes to prom I'm very forward planning, any excuse to get dressed up and I'm there!

Eye Makeup

1- Topshop eye crayon in 'Marble.' In love with Topshop's eye crayons at the moment! Works as such a good base for any eyeshadow and adds that extra bit of glitter.
2- Collection 2000 Extreme felt tip liner. Felt tip liners are the easier type of eyeliner to use, especially if you have a shaky hand (like me)
3- Maybelline Volum' Express Mascara- So volumizing and a really good price considering the quality of the product (being very good!)

Colour 1- I put this shimmery goldy colour all over my lid on top of my Topshop Marble eye crayon (see below) to add some extra sparkle.
Colour 2- I used this colour in the outer third of my eye to add some definition
Colour 3- I used this colour in the inner corner of my eye
Colour 4- I used this colour in my crease (and also as an eyebrow fill in!)

Face
My prom makeup plan (obviously not quite as red on the cheeks!)

17 BB cream in Medium- I LOVE this make of BB cream! It's has such a smooth finish without being shiny, perfect for photographs!

Topshop 'Morning Dew' cream blusher- I recently purchased this product and I've completely fallen in love with it! Admittedly it does look like a bit of a bright scary colour, but blended out it looks so pretty and natural with a hint of shimmer!

 Lips

MAC  Crosswires  lipstick- I also recently purchased my very first MAC lipstick! *rejoice!* This colour is so pretty with a hint of gloss. It stays on for ages which saves constantly reapplying. It is a similar colour to my dress but not matching.

Dress

Sorry about the awful photo!

Black strip round the bodice with bow and black sequins
I purchased this dress in Jane Norman for £50... bargain!

My shoes are from Barratts for £20! Another bargain!

Overall prom was great and everyone looked so gorgeous! I hope you have enjoyed this post and found it helpful if you are getting prepared for prom! :)

Get the Bohemian look!

Summer, the festival season, is rapidly approaching (hallelujah!) If you are like me and are looking for a new look this summer then look no further than the bohemian (boho) look!

Vanessa Hudgens (you know her, she's in Spring Breakers... I soo wanna see this film!) rocks the boho look nearly everywhere she goes!

This look is 100% Vanessa Hudgens inspired.
I love this chilled out, summery look and I'm desperate to give it a go! So here's a lil' post for y'all if you, like me, are looking for a new summer look. You never know the Boho look could be perfect for you!

When researching the boho style there was about a zillion shops I could've gone to, so I've limited my recommended boho clothes to just one shop, Topshop. Obviously the clothes I have recommended are just to give you some idea/inspiration for boho clothes and Topshop is a great place to start... (aside from being a bit on the pricey side!)

Clothing

Boho style clothing is all about the tie dyes, floaty skirts and maxi dresses- perfect for summer and festival go-ers! To check out Topshop's 'festival' range click here.

Accessories/Shoes

Accessories are vital if your choosing to go boho. I am a complete jewelry addict!- I think it completes an outfit (especially if it's sparkly!) In case you didn't spot, the bag in this picture matches one of the dresses in the 'clothing' picture, so if you want to be really coordinated then why not purchase both!?

And lastly, hair. Hair is really simple, just a flowery headband will finish the boho look.

I haven't included the prices or names of these items as if you go to my 'Wantworthy' list all these products, their price and any info will be on there: http://www.wantworthy.com/laurakingston/groups/Boho%20blog%20post

I hope this post has given you some bohemian inspiration for the summer :)
Not long to go till summer now!
